-LIMIT BREAKS- In even the deepest Darkness, a spark of light...
The greatest feats of strength, the hallmarks of desperation, Limit Breaks are preformed when survival is in doubt, awakening reserves of power a hero might not know he had. These outbursts of hope and willpower given form transcend the fragile mortal form and can take any shape, just as heroism itself cries out in many tones.
Limit Breaks are much like standard abilities, though naturally on a higher standard of power and versatility. They can be Supportive or Offensive in nature, but all are united by a common trait: A Limit Break costs all the MP you currently have. Half of this cost is refunded if a Limit outright fails. Either way, another can't be attempted during the same fight.
Template;
Limit Name: Obvious. Cost: 100% of current MP. Additional cost optional. Description: A cool description of the Limit Break. Extra effort here won't win you anything but pride, but the pride is worth it. Effect: Standard as per ability. Damage, roll bonus, and additional effects like hit count and spread. Trinity Effect: The bonus applied to a Trinity Limit. This overwrites the standard if applied and is left blank otherwise.
Trinity Limit Three paths converge.. The road to victory is laid bare.
The mystic power of the Trinity is universal enough that the number 3 itself can evoke great power. If three Limit Breaks are used at the same time and succeed, the trio can immediately preform a Trinity Limit. The Trinity Limit deals damage equal to half the total damage done by the three that evoked it, using the HIGHEST roll among the three, with the Bonuses of the three attacks added together. Only enemies struck by all three Limits are targeted.
Some Limits can have nonstandard effects on the Trinity, mostly those that are supportive in nature. If the Trinity Effect area of the Limit is filled out, whatever trait it grants is added to the Trinity in place of increasing its damage. A standard Trinity Effect is to place Limit buffs on other targets or extend healing Limits.
If a Trinity Limit is preformed by one Staff Path, one Sword Path, and one Shield Path, the damage portion of the limit is doubled and all enemies are targeted.
Limit Chain The universal language of war. When strangers become brothers and sisters..
Those who seek the Book of All Things are intrinsically linked by the same mysterious force that draws them together in the first place. This togetherness spindles its web throughout all worlds, forming a bond of kinship through which power can be directly channeled. By spending all one's current MP, the Escort for any given world can be coaxed to preform a Limit Break of their own by cooperating with the user. These are accessible by everyone, but the exact nature of the move depends on the Path of the one who evokes it. Sword, Staff, and Shield all create a different dual technique.
If a character lacks a Limit Chain for a particular path for whatever reason, or if the Escort has already acted that turn, the attempt fails. Limit Chains also cannot cause Trinity Limits, and each can only be preformed once per mission by the escort in question.
Template;
Escort: Name of the Escort that preforms the Limit Chain. Path: Staff, Sword, or Shield. The Path a character must be to trigger the Limit Chain. Name: Description: Effect: Cost: 100% of current MP. Additional cost optional.
